That's right ladies and gentlemen...Dan bought us a Playstation 2 along with about 5 games to play on it. Well, I bought a couple of them and called them his very belated birthday present. I bought him Final Fantasy X and some game called Project Eden. Now we know why that one was so cheap. It's just not a very good game....Mostly we bought it so that we could play one of the games together. Dan wanted Soul Caliber 2 (which I know nothing about), but they didn't have it when we went looking (most of the games we bought were used, in order to save us money).
We also got Devil May Cry, Evil Dead: A Fistfull of Boomstick, and Beyond Good and Evil. I don't really go in for the scary/gory/horror games, so I decided to try Beyond Good and Evil. You wouldn't think it's any different from the other titles I listed, but it's not so much a scary/horror game, as it is an interesting discover-the-conspiracy game. There's fighting and stuff....but I think I just prefer the story line to the others.
Though watching Dan play some of those games can be really entertaining. I think he's totally in love with Devil May Cry....he's been playing it since the day we bought it. Well, to be fair, we only got the system and games like 2 days ago...but the amount of time spent playing the game sure tells you a thing or two. Let's just say he plays it a lot! But then again, when he's not playing his game, I'm on the system playing mine....so it's about equal, I guess.
Also, FFX is horribly interesting! Dan's been playing that one a fair bit too (though not as much as the other one). The story line has me totally enthralled!
I think gaming may be bad for me! I hope I can pull myself away for long enough to go to Nanaimo this weekend for Gwen's wedding.
Yes, I'm coming to Nanaimo again this weekend. I'll be up on Thursday, and I'll probably be gone Saturday. Dan's dad says he can give us a ride back. Oh yeah, and somewhere in between the wedding and the reception, I have to go to the dentist! What fun!!
A page for me to share all the little details of my life. Probably nothing that will be interesting for anyone who doesn't know me.

Oopsie!
Well, my Mom found out about my blog, and has requested that I clean up my language a tad. There was a reason I didn't tell everyone I had a blog. Mostly to avoid embarrassing situations like this. So here's my public apology:
I'm sorry Mom. I'll keep my more colourful language to myself from now on. :-)
I kinda thought something like this would happen...But leave it to me to totally ignore my conscience when I know that this can be accessed by anyone, whether I know them or not.
In other news, it looks like Dan and I won't be getting kicked out of our suite anytime soon. I wasn't aware of this, but the new landlords will have to give us at least two months notice before they're allowed to evict us. Kinda nice to know that...since Dan and I were thinking about moving this summer anyway. Hopefully we are going to be moving into a nice big house with Bonnie, Nick and Ashley. Here's hoping!
In other other news, I'm going back to Nanaimo this weekend for Gwen and Eric's wedding....Oh crap! I guess that means I should get a wedding present. Oh crap! I have a concert on Monday night! I need to practice!
Gotta go! Bye!

What the Hell is it with My Summers??
Why is it, every time the summer comes, crappy stuff happens to me?
Maybe I shouldn't say "crappy"...More like everything changes on me. And most of it has occurred since I finished High School. The first time it happened, I found out my best friend was gay (Bi?). That was the first time anyone I'd known had told me something like that. It took some adjusting to, and then I was fine. That same summer, Linda moved to Victoria, and most of my other friends moved to various places around the world.
After my first year at Malaspina, my boyfriend dumped me, and I spent the summer feeling very alone. I know that getting dumped isn't exactly life changing, but my point is, is that if something happens to me, it usually happens at the end of the school year.
Year after that, I moved to Victoria. I moved in with Linda, and I spent the summer working, and then finding out that I wasn't accepted to UVic. Linda spent most of her time in Nanaimo that summer, so I spent another summer feeling very alone, cuz I didn't know many people in Victoria. All I did was work. And also, Jim got married that summer.
Last year, Linda moved out, and I didn't talk to her all summer. In fact no one really talked to me at all...Except for Dan, but I was living with him. Everyone else was too busy. I spent yet another summer working at my semi-crappy job, and then came home....That was about it.
This year, the landlord is selling the house Dan and I are living in, and I'm not entirely sure what that means to us yet. But I know that he's coming with a realtor tomorrow to take pictures. Dan and I have spent most of today cleaning the house. What fun!
The summer's just gotten started, and I haven't gotten my test results back from the doctor yet. Hopefully, it won't be too bad....
Just watch....I'll probably end up with Cancer. ;-)
PS~ Sorry about the negative blog....just needed to complain about something, and this is the worst that I've got at the moment.

Bring In the Noise, Bring In the Funk
So our landlord, yesterday, came back from his vacation. It looks like he came by to mow the lawn as well, since there was a lot less unmanageable jungle in our back yard.
Anyway, Dan says that he talked to the landlord while I was at work. Apparently the people downstairs from us have been bitching about noise, and are moving out. Apparently, they're blaming us. Here's what they're complaining about:
1) Our dishwasher being run too late at night.
2) The washing machine being run too late at night.
3) Loud video games.
Here's what I have to say to these accusations:
1) We do have a dishwasher, but ever since they complained the first time, I have not run it so much as in the evening, much less late at night.
2) The washing machine is in a common room that is shared by all the tenants in the building. Neither Dan or myself have done laundry in that room for well over a month. We have been able to take it with us when we go to Nanaimo, so we do it for free at home, instead of scrounging for quarters just because I need to wash a pair of pants.
3) Dan and I do play video games, but on computers. Dan uses his headphones when he plays, and I'm on a laptop that barely make enough sound for me to hear.
I should mention that Dan and I live in a house that has three separate suites in it. There's our little suite on the top floor. The main suite right below us (which is huge and has control over our heating). And there's a little bachelor suite on the bottom floor. The bottom floor also has a storage space for the main suite and the communal laundry room.
I don't know about the dishwasher, but the rest of the complaints aren't our fault. For the most part, Dan and I are pretty quiet. Not to mention these, so-called "disgruntled tenants" never mentioned any of their problems to us. Maybe if they had bothered to find out the source, they wouldn't be moving out.
Whatever...It's not like I was emotionally attached to these people. See ya! Have a nice life!

Robyn, If You're Reading This, You May Want to Stop!
Train of thought running through my head last night:
Can't sleep...Spiders'll get me
Can't sleep...Spiders'll get me
Can't sleep...Spiders'll get me
Can't sleep...Spiders'll get me
Can't sleep...Spiders'll get me...
If you haven't guessed it, I'm a little on the arachnophobic side. But I didn't think it was within unreasonable limits. The little ones don't bother me. It's the big honking ones that come out at just about this time of the year. You know, those huge fuckers that like to wear your shoes. Why is that unreasonable?
Anyway, after a good hour of fretting about the huge land-octopus (as my sister likes to refer to them), I finally decided to do something about it. I got up, put on a big pair of shoes without any holes in them, found another shoe that I was never gonna wear again, and opened the door to the front entrance. There it was, this huge spider just sitting there on the wall. Sam (my cat) followed behind me, but quickly took the lead. He found another one hiding in ambush just a few steps away. A mighty battle ensued. Who would win? Sam or the radioactive spider? Sam chased it. It ran in terror. Nothing could beat this black furball of death! Sam dispatched of him quickly with tooth and claw. In the end, the spider was nothing but legs sticking out of a triumphant Sam’s mouth.
But there was still the intruder on the wall to deal with. I was already for it, but it was ready for me as well. It slunk into a corner where it thought it would be safe. I approached cautiously, shoe in hand. After a long moment of psyching myself up, I lunged…. And missed! It had gotten itself in that corner better than I had thought.
I hastily retreated to a safe distance where I watched it cautiously. It was time for a larger arsenal. It was time to bring out the insecticide! But there was one problem…My bug killer was for fleas and ticks. Would it be enough to take out my opponent? “To hell with it,” I thought.
Again, I approached cautiously, spray in hand. When I got too close for my own comfort, I sprayed that sucker. It began to move, and I retreated once more. It had been smoked out of hiding. I prepared the mate to the first shoe, which had failed, for its revenge upon the evil eight-legged freak. The shoe’s justice was swift and silent…Just the way it likes it.
The battle was over, and Sam and I were still standing, not a mark on us.
The End

Interesting....Very Interesting...Well, Maybe Not...
Today I realized that I've never actually bought myself any books by one of my favourite authors. You see, I read a lot of Charles de Lint books, but mostly because Linda lends them to me. She's got tons of them. And she always lends them to me to read. I think I've read a good chunk of her collection (that haven't been lent to other people anyway).
At Christmas time, I even bought her Jack of Kinrowan, which she had lost some years before (so that one doesn't count, cuz I didn't buy it for myself). We found out later that Jim had the original copy for some time. I then got the first copy for myself. You know, cuz Lin didn't need that copy anymore; she had a nice new shiny one. But again, I never technically bought it for myself.
Today, Lin and I were out shopping, and we stopped by A&B. This one here in Victoria has a pretty good book section in it, so we went to go check it out. That's when Lin pointed out a book of short stories by Charles de Lint called Waifs and Strays. And it was only $3.00!!!
"Holy crap," I thought to myself, "Well now I have to buy it!"
And so now, I have finally bought a Charles de Lint book for my very own. I'm so proud!

What a wonderful weekend! Dan and I took the bus home on Friday night, and Robyn gave us a ride from the depot. The next day, I went for a walk with Dan through the fancy new Country Club Centre and got blizzards at the Dairy Queen. You know those new CheeseQuake blizzards? Damn Good!
When we got back to my parents' place, I called Ward and asked him what he was up to. He told me he had to wait for his dad, and then he'd call me back. When he finally did, he said he wanted to go see Hellboy, so I said sure. Dan and I went early and got some food at Kelsy's (see quote above). We had a really good dinner (I had ribs and wings), and then we met Ward and his dad at the theatre. I enjoyed this movie the second time as much as I did the first time! Rasputin and Nazis! Where can it go wrong?! Hahaha...
Ward wanted to get some dinner, so Dan and I got to go out for dinner two times that night, though the second dinner consisted of only an appetizer and dessert. Speaking of dessert, holy crap were those cookies stale! It was kinda one of those ice cream sandwich desserts, but the cookies were so hard/stale, that Ward had to lend me his steak knife (cleaned) for me to cut through the bugger. Even with the knife it was a challenge!
Sunday, we all headed to Parksville for family fun! First we went to Mom and Dad's campsite and then went for a walk by the river. Very pretty. I was the only one wearing sandals, so I was the only one who wasn't afraid of walking through the water. Then we went back to the campsite, had a bit of a drink and a snack, and went to my Aunty Sherri's. This was Dan's first encounter with my extended family. Not a bad mix either. As my family enjoys a good meal and drinks, Dan kinda had food and beer forced into his hands a bunch of times. Hahaha....It was all good though. By the end, he was so full, he could barely move! My Aunty Sherri loved him! She, in fact, gushed all over him about how good-looking he was! It was great! I had so much fun! I think he did too.
It ended a little too quickly for my liking when Robyn said she had to get home before it was too dark. One of her headlights got knocked out and was hanging by some fishing line. It was pretty funny, cuz it was still working, and when she stopped you could see the light swinging back and forth on the ground.
We got home and watched a movie or two, and then went to bed. Next day Ashley was giving us a ride back to Victoria. She said we'd be leaving at 11:00 cuz she had to work at 5:00. All was good, until we got past Malaspina, and she got caught speeding. $200.00 later, she was much more cautious of her speed. The rest of the trip was pretty uneventful.
We got back to Victoria and I discovered that I forgot a bunch of stuff in Nanaimo. Oh well, I'm back in a few weeks for Gwen's wedding.
Yup, goood weekend! Ended with a blood test... :-P Yuck!
PS~ Ward sent me this link today. It's pretty funny, and I don't even know anything about Macs.

Work, Work, Work...
I've been working so much this week, it's ridiculous. I mean, I go from practically no shifts to 7 in a row, one day for a break, and then 2 more shifts. Then it's off to lovely Nanaimo for the weekend and friends and family!
Honestly, I kinda miss being this busy. It makes me feel like I'm accomplishing something. Though I've noticed that walking home causes terrible amounts of pain. I honestly don't know what causes it. I get this terrible ache/tearing pain in the side of my left leg. It doesn't happen all the time, just once every few months. It's the strangest thing.
Does anyone else have that one person at work/school that you just don't jive with? I do. For some reason she doesn't sit right with me. She seems to have this attitude that because I'm new to Addition-Elle, I don't have a clue as to what I'm doing. It's like I don't know how to do my job or something, and she has to keep tabs on me. I don't like having people assume that I don't know Jack Shit about my job. Yes I'm new to this kind of retail, but that doesn't mean I don't know how to put the clothes away! Today she comes up to me and says, "So you're off soon, do you think you can start working on the put-backs?" She didn't notice me take a handful of clothes off the rack and put them away as she told me this. Be a little me observant, would you? I don't like people who think I can't do anything on my own. I'm not a child. I know how to think!
There was another day last week where she was doing something, and I was doing something, and I noticed our manager, Julie was off the floor. So I walked over to my fellow associate, and simply asked, "Is Julie on her break?"
She turns to me and with and incredulous tone in her voice says, "Yes, she's on her lunch. She's allowed to have a lunch break."
Thanks for that, tips! You know, just cuz I never seem to be entitled to a break doesn't mean I think no one else is. I only work 4 hours a day...not getting my break isn't that big a deal (though I'd like to get it if I could). But I realize that when the manager is there for the better part of her day, that she goes for lunch! I'm not an idiot!! All I wanted to know is if she was out of the store or not! There's no reason to get all snotty about it, bitch! Dammit!
God, now I'm all riled up! I'm gonna go clean my bathroom!

Uh-uh! Second Date! No Tongue!
~Hell Boy (to a demon with a crazy long tongue)
If you haven't guessed yet, I went to see Hell Boy tonight with Dan. He wanted a break from all the homework and studying, so we took a walk to the closest theatre and saw a movie. It was pretty good too. I enjoyed it thoroughly! Big red man with horns and a hand made out of living rock? Woman who can control blue flames? Fish-man? All of them fighting big bad demons? Friggin' sweet!
It was also pretty cool that a guy outside the theatre stopped us and then asked, "You wouldn't be going to see Hell Boy, would you?"
To which I responded "Yes."
Then he goes, "Would you like a ticket? My friend bailed on me, and I already bought this like an hour ago."
I was like, "Wow, thanks!"
He just gave us a free ticket! Yay for random acts of kindness!! It was valid and everything. I'm always pleasantly surprised when stuff like this happens. I try to return the favour when I can. Like giving some guy who needs a quarter for the bus a bus ticket...I really believe that Karma exists sometimes. Especially when stuff like this happens to me. It's so simple but so appreciated!
The movie was based on a comic book (you know, cuz those kinda movies aren't popular right now or anything) so the beginning was a little cheesy. But after you get past that initial campiness, it really picks up. I mean there's even a mechanical man that's nigh unstoppable! He's like the Energizer Bunny! He just keeps going and going and going and going.... You get the idea.
I liked this movie. But my tastes can be strange sometimes. The best way to find out is to go to the show yourself.

I've Been Running Out of Things To Say...
Man, I never know what to write here anymore. I don't really have any news, other than I'm probably coming back to Nanaimo for Easter, and Dan will probably come with me.
I think this'll be fun, too. Dan finally gets to meet some of my crazy relatives. Most notably, my Aunty Sherri and my Aunty Elaine. Both of these fine ladies are my Dad's sisters, so it's guaranteed fun for all. You know this if you've ever met my Dad. His whole family is like that! Hahahaha....
Apparently, my parents have opted to go camping in Parksville that weekend, so I get free reign of the house when I come home (They'll come and get us for dinner on Sunday). I even have a day or two that I can visit with friends, if anyone's around. Give me a call or e-mail me. Let me know what's going on. However, I should warn you that I'm still not sure if I can pull the time off from work, so plans are still kinda in Limbo at the moment.
I hope this works out! I really wanna see my Aunts. I never get to anymore. It's a result of me moving to Victoria, and it kinda sucks.
In other news, if anyone wants to donate to the "Diane's Digital Camera Fund," let me know. :-D I'm highly interested in getting a new camera. I've always kinda been interested in photography, and a digital camera would let me see the finished product before I had to spend the money on developing it and all the rest of it. The problem is getting the money together in the first place. There's always my birthday, too, if anyone's feeling generous. ;-) Only 2 months and 2 days!!
