~Dan
What a wonderful weekend! Dan and I took the bus home on Friday night, and Robyn gave us a ride from the depot. The next day, I went for a walk with Dan through the fancy new Country Club Centre and got blizzards at the Dairy Queen. You know those new CheeseQuake blizzards? Damn Good!
When we got back to my parents' place, I called Ward and asked him what he was up to. He told me he had to wait for his dad, and then he'd call me back. When he finally did, he said he wanted to go see Hellboy, so I said sure. Dan and I went early and got some food at Kelsy's (see quote above). We had a really good dinner (I had ribs and wings), and then we met Ward and his dad at the theatre. I enjoyed this movie the second time as much as I did the first time! Rasputin and Nazis! Where can it go wrong?! Hahaha...
Ward wanted to get some dinner, so Dan and I got to go out for dinner two times that night, though the second dinner consisted of only an appetizer and dessert. Speaking of dessert, holy crap were those cookies stale! It was kinda one of those ice cream sandwich desserts, but the cookies were so hard/stale, that Ward had to lend me his steak knife (cleaned) for me to cut through the bugger. Even with the knife it was a challenge!
Sunday, we all headed to Parksville for family fun! First we went to Mom and Dad's campsite and then went for a walk by the river. Very pretty. I was the only one wearing sandals, so I was the only one who wasn't afraid of walking through the water. Then we went back to the campsite, had a bit of a drink and a snack, and went to my Aunty Sherri's. This was Dan's first encounter with my extended family. Not a bad mix either. As my family enjoys a good meal and drinks, Dan kinda had food and beer forced into his hands a bunch of times. Hahaha....It was all good though. By the end, he was so full, he could barely move! My Aunty Sherri loved him! She, in fact, gushed all over him about how good-looking he was! It was great! I had so much fun! I think he did too.
It ended a little too quickly for my liking when Robyn said she had to get home before it was too dark. One of her headlights got knocked out and was hanging by some fishing line. It was pretty funny, cuz it was still working, and when she stopped you could see the light swinging back and forth on the ground.
We got home and watched a movie or two, and then went to bed. Next day Ashley was giving us a ride back to Victoria. She said we'd be leaving at 11:00 cuz she had to work at 5:00. All was good, until we got past Malaspina, and she got caught speeding. $200.00 later, she was much more cautious of her speed. The rest of the trip was pretty uneventful.
We got back to Victoria and I discovered that I forgot a bunch of stuff in Nanaimo. Oh well, I'm back in a few weeks for Gwen's wedding.
Yup, goood weekend! Ended with a blood test... :-P Yuck!
PS~ Ward sent me this link today. It's pretty funny, and I don't even know anything about Macs.
