Bring In the Noise, Bring In the Funk

So our landlord, yesterday, came back from his vacation. It looks like he came by to mow the lawn as well, since there was a lot less unmanageable jungle in our back yard.

Anyway, Dan says that he talked to the landlord while I was at work. Apparently the people downstairs from us have been bitching about noise, and are moving out. Apparently, they're blaming us. Here's what they're complaining about:

1) Our dishwasher being run too late at night.

2) The washing machine being run too late at night.

3) Loud video games.

Here's what I have to say to these accusations:

1) We do have a dishwasher, but ever since they complained the first time, I have not run it so much as in the evening, much less late at night.

2) The washing machine is in a common room that is shared by all the tenants in the building. Neither Dan or myself have done laundry in that room for well over a month. We have been able to take it with us when we go to Nanaimo, so we do it for free at home, instead of scrounging for quarters just because I need to wash a pair of pants.

3) Dan and I do play video games, but on computers. Dan uses his headphones when he plays, and I'm on a laptop that barely make enough sound for me to hear.

I should mention that Dan and I live in a house that has three separate suites in it. There's our little suite on the top floor. The main suite right below us (which is huge and has control over our heating). And there's a little bachelor suite on the bottom floor. The bottom floor also has a storage space for the main suite and the communal laundry room.

I don't know about the dishwasher, but the rest of the complaints aren't our fault. For the most part, Dan and I are pretty quiet. Not to mention these, so-called "disgruntled tenants" never mentioned any of their problems to us. Maybe if they had bothered to find out the source, they wouldn't be moving out.

Whatever...It's not like I was emotionally attached to these people. See ya! Have a nice life!
