Physiotherapy for Cats

So Sam is doing better. He can move his legs at the hip, and above the knee, it looks like. We were allowed to bring him home last night. We were told to keep him in a small room, or a large cage. Unfortunately, the smallest room we have is the bathroom, and in all honesty, it's just too small to have a lame cat, his water, food and modified kitty litter box (the sides can't be any more than an inch and a half tall) in such a high-traffic area.

We had to put him in the spare room, which is the only room in the house that he can have a little peace and quiet, as well as not get in our way when we need to move around quickly. The spare room, however, is quite large...and we have a bed in there that we're keeping for a friend. I'm a little scared that Sam will manage his way up there, and then not be able to make it back to the kitty litter in time.

That's another thing...He's able to use the kitty litter. I guess when we brought him in he wasn't able to urinate on his own. Now he can. He seems to be getting a little better daily. But the doctor was worried that we might not have gotten the blood flowing quick enough, and that there might be some tissue damage.

The vet also told us that physiotherapy and massage can help. So we're supposed to give him some physio three times a day. They showed us how to do it, and Sam was even managing to pull his legs away a little.

She also said that baby aspirin would help keep the clot from getting worse. So we have to run to Thrifty's today, and get some. It looks like losing my job helped out my cat a lot. Except for the bill... Ouchie...
