Come One, Come All...

To wonderful, stupendous, exciting Victoria!

I feel like I've been spoiled over the last week. I had all kinds of different people show up at my door!

On Wednesday, Ward and Ayla decided on a whim to drive down to Victoria and drink wheatgrass. Why Victoria's wheatgrass is so much better than Nanaimo's we may never know. Apparently, the place they went to get this strange brew gave them massive glasses of the stuff, where they thought all they'd be getting is a small shot of it. By the time Ward and Ayla actually made it to our place, they were both feeling somewhat sick. Meanwhile, Dan and I were ravenous because we hadn't eaten yet, thinking they were meeting us closer to supper time. We all went to Boston Pizza, so that Dan and I could get some eats, and Ward and Ayla could essentially sit and watch. They ended up getting some food anyway.

After dinner, we came home again and watched a DVD of Will Ferrell from SNL. He has got to be one of my favourite actors from one of my (used to be) favourite shows. He's just crazy! By the way, if you haven't seen Anchorman, do. You'll laugh your ass right off!

When the DVD was over though, I really, really had to go to bed. It was already way past my bed time when we had started watching it. Ward and Ayla spent the night, but I didn't get to see them the next morning, because I had to leave the house by 5:30 for work.

Then, yesterday, as I was reading Friend Robyn's blog, I found out that she was heading down this way for the Eternal Egypt exhibit at the Royal British Columbia Museum. I gave her a call, and we made plans to meet up when she was done her tour. During that time, Dan and I had all kinds of shopping to do, as well as get Dan a haircut.

When Robyn and her friend, "Dreamy Matt" were done at the museum, they come over to our place for the first time ever. Robyn seemed to have a nervous breakdown at the sight of my cat who still walks funny due to his earlier incident this summer. But honestly, if she thought that was heartbreaking, I'm glad she didn't see him way back in May! I'm positive she would have broken into tears.

Anyway, after Robyn's trauma of seeing my cat, she was put through the trauma of listening to Dan. I'm sure she went home last night and curled up into the fetal position for hours, possibly mumbling something like, "Can't sleep...Dan will get me..."

Word of advice, never mention lesbians to Dan.

Anyway, we had a long chat about life, but then, alas, it was time for Friend Robyn and Dreamy Matt to go. They left shortly after Robyn made Dan promise to visit Nanaimo with me more often.

I'll probably be headed back Nanaimo way sooner or later. I never can stay away for very long. I'll just have to see what my first pay cheque is like to make some solid plans.
