Once again, I find I have nothing to say.
I have an interview today at Northern Reflections at the Bay Centre downtown. I don't know what to expect with this. It's another retail job, and we all know how I feel about retail. Hopefully this will only be a temporary position that I will shed once I get some edgumication that will save me from working at anymore of these boring, aggravating, Hell-like malls and the shops that keep them running.
For those of you who don't know, the Bay Centre is the biggest shopping mall in Victoria. It's got 4 floors of consumerism. One end of this mall is all the Bay. It used to be the Eaton's Centre, but Eaton's, of course, no longer exists. They changed the name of the mall when the Bay moved in. Now, as this is downtown Victoria, that means that the summer crowds will be riddled with American tourists. There will obviously be other tourists from other countries (possibly even from this country), but I've heard horror stories from Caroline, of the crazy American tourists who expect to get their change back in American money, even though they are not in America, and making a huge fuss about it. There are other stories, but that's the one that stick out in my memory.
But I guess we'll see what's up in a few more hours.
Also, I've been threatened by Friend Robyn to come to her birthday party under pain of death if I don't show. Her birthday's a week from yesterday, and I'll have to see what happens with this interview. If things are looking good, I'll see if I can at least slip up to the Harbour City for the night and head back on Friday. But we'll have to see.
And finally, Sam appears to be walking a little. His feet don't fully get under him though, so he seems to be walking on his toes. It looks somewhat uncomfortable, but at least he's gotten this far. He's starting to get restless at night and pretty much anytime we're out of the room he's in. He whines and cries at the door, wanting out. But I take this as a good sign that he's getting better and wants to be able to wander at will. Possibly, in another week, he could be taking some sure-footed steps around the house!
